Jyväskylä Centre Students - JOK PDF Print E-mail

The Jyväskylä Centre Students (JOK) represents a wide variety of polytechnic and university level students from different fields of study. Our aim is to better opportunities for study and to improve equality in higher education, specifically. Members of our group share a common interest in politics.

JOK organises events, get-togethers, different activites and all sorts of fun - only your imagination sets the limits mostly during the academic year.

Some famous Finnish politicians of today have they roots in student politics and JOK. Newcomers are very welcome to join our organization; you never know where you find yourself after that, perhaps from the Finnish parliament.

JOK is a member of the Union of Centre students and a member of the largest political party in Finland - The Centre Party.

"The basic principles of the Centre Party grow from the belief in human resources, from the importance of humanity and tolerance and in the meaning of co-operation making use for everybody.

Social safety and freedom of choice, regional equality, entrepreneurship and ecological sustainability are important values for the Centre party. Additionally preserving nature for the generations to come and a decentralised, democratic decision making are important values for the party."
